School Meetings
Jackie arranges two school meetings a year for ex and present students in order to motivate and keep in touch with each other and also keep up to date with what is happening in 'therapy world'.  This meeting is approved by the AOR and includes a talk/demo on another therapy, e.g. Metamorphic Technique, Light Touch Reflexology, Hypnotherapy, Bowen Technique as well as the encouragement and a chance to see those you studied with - it can get pretty lonely once you leave a course and are out there on your own!

All the speakers have been through the school, but will have another therapy that they have learned elsewhere. We like to keep it in the family – there’s a lot of talent already in our ex and present students so we don’t have to go ‘outside’!

Anyone who has been through the school, either for 6 or 9 months course or a weekend CPD course are invited to these meetings – the cost is negligible – around £3 each to pay for the hire of the hall. An agenda is sent out in advance and the talk/demo lasts for one hour with the meeting lasting for three hours altogether.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is an important part of progressing your training and these meetings will keep you up-to-date, as well as count as points towards your CPD. As the Association of Reflexologists has approved these meetings they are therefore worth double CPD points to AOR members i.e. 6 points for a 3 hour meeting.

The workshops are also valuable for CPD – enhance your practice with knowledge of another therapy.

This Maternity Reflexology Course is designed to provide participants with a basic understanding of women’s fertility and pregnancy.  It enables participants to use the principles and practices of reflexology to support those processes.  The course also includes information about the development of the incoming soul with its manifestation on the mother’s feet and reflexology care for the newborn baby.

General Information
Maternity reflexology is a postgraduate course for reflexologists

Pre requisites:

  • Anatomy and Physiology (minimum 50 hours)
  • Certificate/Diploma in Reflexology. 

The course is 4 days (30 hours) duration and is structured in two separate parts.
Part 1 covers the basics and the time from preconception until the end of pregnancy.
Part 2 covers the incoming soul and pregnant feet, birthing, the postnatal period. 

A minimum of 6 months between parts 1 and 2 is recommended to give participants time to gain maternity reflexology experience. Participants who already have Maternity Reflexology experience need not take six months.

Advanced Massage Techniques with Lorraine Kirk Monday 21st July 2008

 

The cost of the Advanced Massage Workshop is £45 and the time is from 10-4.

This day will include: specialist techniques used by sports and remedial massage therapists, including neuro muscular techniques and soft tissue release – demonstration and individual practice.  Also stretching techniques used in traditional Thai Yoga Massage will be demonstrated.  Lorraine will be teaching different techniques from those taught at the last class – she couldn’t teach everything she knows in one day!
