Every single cell in the body is gently stimulated to balance the body and so stimulating the body's own healing mechanism.
There is some suggestions that reflexology may aid:

Reflexologists do not claim to cure, diagnose or prescribe.- Each session of reflexology works on an individual basis.

care professionals - recognise reflexology as a well established, respected and effective therapy

The Reflexology Diploma syllabus includes:
- History, theory and philosophy of reflexology
- Contra-indications and reactions to treatment
- Client care. Treating the individual. Adaptations to treatment
- The reflexology treatment along with some advanced techniques
- Study of common complaints and how reflexology can help
- Structure and conditions of the feet and hands
- Hand reflexology – theory and practical
- Professional presentation
- Consultation process and counseling skills
- Holistic approach
- Integral biology
- Referral procedures
- Introduction to other therapies
- Importance of Nutrition
- Code of Ethics and Practice
- Business & Health and Safety
- Introduction to Marketing
- Anatomy and Physiology (if you already have this qualification please contact Jackie for further information)
Once you start the course you can join the Association of Reflexologists which will include your student insurance and you can also join the Professional Reflexologists as students for free! You can only join these Associations if you are doing a top qualification - which you will be!
When you qualify you may also join the Complementary Therapists Association and Federation of Holistic Therapists. You may also join the CNHC which is UK the regulator for complementary healthcare practitioners, and you can be on their register. Once you graduate you will have a top level 3 qualification and can start your own business as a therapist, either mobile, or in your own clinic or join a clinic/spa/salon – the possibilities are endless......

Further specific information for you:
(Jackie advises that you do not buy any equipment for the course in case there are any unforeseen changes)
- Practical Examination:
- No Reflexology Theory Exam: School theory exam (there are no longer external theory exams for the new QCF Reflexology Diploma from any of the examining boards)
- Case Studies: 60 treatments to be written up (example case study supplied) plus 40 extra treatments
- If you already have a recognised level 3 qualification in a therapy, you may have this taken into account and won't have to also do the following. If you are new to therapies, the course will also include:
- Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology with Exam – 50 multiple choice question exam paper also Less Common Pathology – assignment (please see Anatomy & Physiology page on this website for more details – please click here
- Principles & Practice of Complementary Therapies – assignment
- Business Practice - assignment
- Health Safety and Hygiene - assignment
- The course books etc which you will need to purchase beforehand:
- The Complete Guide to Reflexology by Ruth Hull
- If you are doing the whole diploma course, including anatomy and physiology you will also need: Anatomy & Physiology for Beauty and Complementary Therapies and Anatomy and Physiology Workbook, both by Ruth Hull
- Succeeding in Business by Pip Hardy and Tony Sumner (may be borrowed from the school)
- You will be given a ring binder with your course work/handouts neatly arranged with dividers with contents page, homework schedule – everything!
- Video footage of Jackie giving a reflexology treatment is freely available to students to give complete reassurance in between classes
- 1 bath towel, antiseptic hand wash gel with pump top action, and a fob watch (Argos sell them for about £5), micropore tape
- To create a professional atmosphere students are required to wear tops supplied by the school (for £10) and wear with it: black trousers, black full shoes with black socks
- You will have password access to Students only part of the Forum on our website where you can download loads of information to aid your studies – master documents, example case study etc – lots of help to support you
- A library of reflexology and other therapy books are available for the students to borrow for additional research and background reading
- You will need an email address and regular access to a computer
- We have a separate theory and practical rooms and students have the use of couches
- Tea and coffee freely available and cool water fountain
- Students and ex students are invited to school meetings where you have a chance to meet up with your fellow classmates, other therapists trained at the school and also hear and see demonstrated other therapies from professionals to increase your learning and widen your outlook – e.g. continuing professional development. Just £2 or £3 to pay for the room that Jackie hires and you will also receive a certificate of attendance to take home as proof for CPD. We like to support you after you graduate

Extra Costs Associated with the Course
(but please dont buy anything until advised)
Books: Reflexology book by Ruth Hull is £19
The Anatomy & Physiology book and workbook are £25 for both
(if you are doing this at the same time)
Business book is around £6
Couch: For home practice. We will give you advice on this - the cost is anything from £80
You may prefer a La Fuma chair for clients to sit in - these cost from £100
Uniform: School polo top is £10, Students supply their own black trousers and shoes
Student Insurance: Students join Professional Reflexology for free and are advised to obtain insurance from them for their case studies (£25) or you can join Association of Reflexologists for £35 with free insurance for case studies, or you can join Complementary Therapists Association - we give you advice and guidance on this, so dont get confused or worried at the moment - we just like to give you all the options.
A first aid certificate should be obtained from a recognised body before the end of all the professional courses (costs about £30)
